The Purple Tang is a saltwater fish with a deep blue to purple body, a bright yellow tail, and yellow-tipped pectoral fins. It grows up to 10 inches and is an active, semi-aggressive herbivore that feeds on algae. Originating from the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and nearby areas, it is a popular aquarium fish that requires a large tank with plenty of swimming space and is often best introduced last into a mixed-species tank.
